WATERING & FERTILIZING:
Keep soil moderately moist. Do not allow plant to sit in water. You may feed monthly with a very diluted liquid fertilizer. Too much fertilizing can cause brown edges on the leaves.
LIGHT CONDITIONS/GROWING AREAS:
Indirect or bright-diffused light is best. Calatheas like air movement which tends to increase their leaf size. Low humidity and too bright light will cause leaf burn. Never place plant in direct sunlight.
OPTIMUM SOIL CONDITIONS:
Grow in loose, fibrous potting mix.
PEST CONTROL:
Burrowing nematodes, spider mites, mealybugs, and scale. Leaf spot, blight. Root rot will occur when plant is kept too wet. Soluble salt buildup may cause root rot in this plant.
CLIMATE/PLANTING CONDITIONS:
Warm - Prefers 70-75º days and 65-70º nights.
