WATERING & FERTILIZING:
Easter Lilies prefer moderately moist, well-drained soil. Water the plant thoroughly when the soil surface feels dry to a light touch, but avoid over-watering. If the pot is wrapped in decorative foil, be careful not to let the plant sit in trapped, standing water. For best results allow the plant to air for a few minutes and discard the excess water in the decorative pot cover.

Orchid Plant 6" - Phalaenopsis
WATERING & FERTILIZING:
Do not over water your orchid or the roots will rot and the plant will die. Test the soil with your finger for dryness or look at the roots to be sure they are still whitish green and plump until you are certain of how often your orchid needs water. Never let an orchid sit in water or use water from a softener. Any good basic food (fertilizer) (10-10-10) that does not contain urea will be fine. Fertilize your orchid twice a month using the food at ½ strength. Water first with plain water and then use water containing the fertilizer so you won’t burn the roots.
AVAILABILITY:
Year round
COLORS AVAILABLE:
White, purple, yellow, pink, striped and spotted varieties
LIGHT CONDITIONS/GROWING AREAS:
There is an orchid to suit almost any lighting condition so be sure to read the care label when you purchase your plant. Generally speaking, eastern & southeastern exposures are the best; always avoid putting your orchid in the direct sun. If your area is too dark the leaves of your orchid will be dark green instead of the grassy yellow green they should be and the plant will not bloom. If there is too much light the leaves turn yellow and develop sunspots.
OPTIMUM SOIL CONDITIONS:
The correct soil is very important for orchids to grow and bloom. Orchids cannot be planted in regular potting soil. They need a soil that drains well but retains water such as a bark-based soil or a peat based soil. There are several commercial soils especially for orchids.
PEST CONTROL:
Orchids are prone to aphids, spider mites, and the plant virus botrytis. If you have your plant where it can get a breeze or even set up a small fan near it, diseases and pests can be controlled and blooms will develop faster.
CLIMATE/PLANTING CONDITIONS:
Orchids do well in regular household temperatures of 65-80 degrees during the day and 10 degrees colder at night.

6" Cymbidium Orchid Plants
WATERING & FERTILIZING:
Cymbidium orchids require frequent watering. You should thus water it thoroughly; keep the soil evenly moist to touch (not saturated or soggy wet). You certainly do not want to sit with Cymbidium orchids that are inflicted with root rot. Never allow water to collect around the bulbs, and never allow the plants to stand in water.
AVAILABILITY:
Year round. please note orchids are not always in stock. Best to order in advance.
COLORS AVAILABLE:
Various shades of pink, purple, lavender, white, yellow and green
LIGHT CONDITIONS/GROWING AREAS:
Cymbidium orchids tolerate most light levels well. This may be in the form of good morning sun or bright, "dappled" afternoon shade. If you have the Cymbidium orchid indoors you need to take care that it is not placed in a location that catches direct light, but rather place it in a location where they will get enough shade so as to protect the leaves from being scorched. Cymbidium orchids are phototropic and good light will ensure that the stems develop strong and firm which will further reward you with many flower heads that the orchid plant will be able to carry. A lanky long stem will not be able to carry the heavy Cymbidium orchid flower heads.
OPTIMUM SOIL CONDITIONS:
The potting mix for the Cymbidium orchids should contain Osmunda, fir tree bark, or even coconut fiber. These will help to keep the plant stable in the pot and allow a free flow of water and air through the pot.
CLIMATE/PLANTING CONDITIONS:
Humidity will prevent crinkled leaves. Air movement around Cymbidium orchids is also a requirement that should not be overlooked. The bigger the area around the plants, the more air movement (not draught) there will be and the sooner the Cymbidium orchid plant will dry out.

African Violet 4"
WATERING & FERTILIZING:
African Violets like to have moist, not soggy soil, at all times. Do not allow plant to sit in water.
COLORS AVAILABLE:
pink (shown), purple, lavender & some variegated colors

LIGHT CONDITIONS/GROWING AREAS:
African Violets are a bit finicky about light. To much light burns or discolors the flowers and leaves. If the light is to low, the African Violet won't bloom. African Violets prefer bright filtered natural light or artificial lighting. They can tolerate direct sun for short periods early in the morning or late in the day, with filtered natural light for the balance of the day.
OPTIMUM SOIL CONDITIONS:
Plant in loose fibrous potting mix. Keep plant moderately root bound. Remove wilted flowers and leaves to discourage root rot. Leaf petioles may rot from absorbing soluble chemicals where they touch the rim of a clay pot. If using clay or terra cotta cover pot with foil.
PEST CONTROL:
Possible pests are cyclamen mites, mealy bugs and aphids.
CLIMATE/PLANTING CONDITIONS:
Warm - Prefers 70-75 days and 65-70 nights.
CASE PRICE:
$61.60 / 16 plants
